Outer Ego was created by the Hondrou Twins after years of reviewing tans and perfecting the features they loved most. The result is an express tanning mousse made to suit everybody and anyone, with a violet-brown base designed to flatter all skin tones. It is super hydrating, infused with skin-loving ingredients like hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, Kakadu plum, argan oil, rosehip oil and vitamin C, and made with a zero fake-tan-smell approach thanks to its Kakadu plum scent.

You can also choose your glow level: rinse after 30 minutes for light/medium, 1 hour for dark, 2–3 hours for ultra dark, or leave it on overnight for maximum results.

Yes, but Outer Ego does not replace sunscreen. Self tan gives your skin a bronzed look, but it does not protect you from UV rays. If you are going outdoors, apply broad-spectrum SPF and follow normal sun-safety steps.

Outer Ego helps you get the glow without needing to chase UV exposure. Your future skin will not send a thank-you card, but it would if it could.

Outer Ego was made with a violet-brown base that is designed to look great on all skin tones and help deliver a natural-looking bronze finish. The team says they spent ages perfecting the formula to create “the perfect shade for everyone” and to help avoid uneven, patchy results.

For the most natural result, prep matters: remove old tan, exfoliate, shave if needed, moisturise dry areas, then apply with a mitt or gloves. Outer Ego’s own tanning steps recommend moisturising stubborn dry areas and waiting at least 2 hours before tanning.

Self tan works differently. DHA, the active tanning ingredient in self tanners, reacts with amino acids on the skin’s surface to create colour, rather than tanning through UV exposure. So the neat answer is: Outer Ego gives you the look of a tan without needing the sun or a tanning bed!
